HV Series High Viscosity Ethyl Cyanoacrylate Adhesives

Source: AZ Laboratories, Inc.
The HVS Compositions are higher viscosity ethyl cyanoacrylate adhesives for rough textured surface bonding applications
Details

The HVS Compositions are higher viscosity ethyl cyanoacrylate adhesives for rough textured surface bonding applications. These formulations allow for some irregularity and provide greater gap cure character than MV series.

APPLICATION
The HVS Adhesives can be applied by pressure/time dispense systems in automated operation or hand dispended with the small nozzle bottle applicators. These compositions undergo cure in 20-60 Seconds, depending on substrates and proximity of surfaces. These compositions are suitable for these sealing/bonding combinations; metal, rubber, plastics, thermosets, wood, ceramics, glass. Low energy surfaces like olefins are more difficult to bond as well as the flourinated olefins and silicones.

Though cure is initiated on contact (80% within the first hour), most bonds will achieve full cure in 24 hours. Bond strengths range from 1000 PSI to excess of 3000 PSI. Plastic and rubber products usually fall under 2000 PSI with failure occuring in the substrate and not at the bond line.

Bond service temperatures span from -65 °F to 180 °F. Intermittent or short temperature excursions to higher values are possible without serious damage to bondline. Specific applications need to be throughly tested. Though these products generally exhibit poor resistance to aqueous environments, they stand up to oils, gasoline and alcohols with excellent bond strength retention.

STORAGE
These products have a one year shelf life. Quality of product can also be maintained by storing at or below 40°F when not in use. Containers should be kept closed to minimize moisture and oxygen uptake which tends to cure contents. Cold stored containers should reach room temperature before using (prevents condensation of moisture).
