The numbers are color activated to provide a clear warning that the temperature is outside the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers) recommended range. The temperature will display red if the temperature rises above 81 degrees and will display blue below 64 degrees. The more extreme the temperature, the larger the warning displayed. For example, if the temperature is 95 degrees, all “hot zone” numbers staring at 81 will display red. ASHRAE recommends monitoring the supply temperature at the bottom, middle and top of each server cabinet to ensure proper temperature at each level.

The Cool Shield Temperature Strips register temperature displays from 53F to 110F. Temperature readings are accurate to +-1.5 degrees. They are 1” high x 9.86” wide and contain a strong adhesive to prevent peeling. The adhesive backing is ideal for mounting the temperature strips to cabinets, blanking panels or nearly anything.
