Energy Codes To Be Addressed In ACC'S 2007 Polyurethane Professional Development Program
Arlington, VA - The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry of the American Chemistry Council (ACC), formerly Alliance for the Polyurethanes Industry, will once again offer multiple educational/training courses as part of its 2007 Professional Development Program (PDP), scheduled for September 23-26 in Orlando, Florida. The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry will offer the PDP in conjunction with its Polyurethanes 2007 Technical Conference, "Step Into The Future," in partnership with the UTECH North America Exhibition, taking place at The Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center, in Orlando.
The eight seminars will cover a wide range and level of polyurethane-related topics, including basic chemistry and technology and an overview of markets and applications. This year, increased emphasis will be placed on building energy codes, which will be part of the Building Codes course. Energy Code development through the International Code Council (ICC), state codes and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) process will be explained. The updated seminars are:
- Introduction to Polyurethane Chemistry
- Introduction to Polyurethane Technology (Products)
- Markets and Applications with a Brief Introduction to Polyurethane Chemistry
- Polyurethane CASE (Coating, Adhesive, Sealant and Elastomer)
- Polyurethane Raw Materials Testing, Specifications and Performance: The Myth and the Magic
- Building and Energy Codes Introduction and Overview Relative to Polyurethanes
- EHS Issues of Aromatic Isocyanates Relative to Polyurethanes
- Physical Testing of Polyurethane Foams
"Our highly successful professional development program offers something for everyone and is unsurpassed in the industry," says Neeva-Gayle Candelori, of ACC. "We offer a full range of course levels, from introductory courses for those new to polyurethane and considering using it in their end-use products, to advanced courses for those with more experience." Courses will be taught by experienced industry officials and consultants.
Fees for the seminars range from $350 for one day of PDP courses plus admission for one conference day, to $600 for all four days of PDP courses plus full conference admission. A discount is offered for member companies of the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry, as well as for students and individuals who also register for the Polyurethanes 2007 Technical Conference. In addition, should PDP participants wish to attend technical, issue or poster sessions, PDP registration fees will enable them to do so.
Altogether, the Polyurethanes 2007 Technical Conference will feature 19 technical sessions, two issue sessions and poster presentations, and will have nearly 100 technical papers presented over the three days. Issue sessions will be led by experienced industry officials in the fields of chemical transportation and emergency preparedness. These issue-oriented sessions will include general discussions, as well as tailored discussions on the impact of each issue on the global polyurethane industry.
