VpCI Impregnated Foam Tapes With Adhesive Backing

Powerful Corrosion Protection for Delicate Electrical and Electronic Equipment!

Complex electronic and electrical components are particularly susceptible to damage by corrosive environments because of its small size and manufacturing processes. Corrosion that occurs during shipping, storage and field operations causes expensive failures but with the right approach can be stopped at any step from manufacturing to final installation. Ecosonic line is a line of products especially created by Cortec Corporation for corrosion protection of most sensitive equipment and parts. EcoSonic products significantly extend equipment life and reduce the cost of expensive repairs.

Patented non-toxic ElectriCorr VpCI-150 Tape powered by Nano-VpCI protects metal in enclosed spaces from corrosion. This economical electro-static dissipative tape provides powerful multimetal protection during operation and shutdown and is effective in control boxes or cabinets to protect most delicate electronic components. ElectriCorr VpCI- 150 Tape will enable protection during operation, shipping or storage and is very effective in polluted and humid environments.

The tape will not interfere with electrical, electronic, optical or mechanical surface properties. This compact product is space-saving, unobtrusive and quick and easy to install. Free of nitrites, silicones, phosphates and with very low VOC values, this safe to handle tape provides continuous protection for up to 24 months as well as antistatic protection under military specification MIL-B-81705C. It has excellent ability to wick away moisture and no spraying, wiping or dipping is required.

Typical Applications

  • Operating, packaged, and stored electrical Equipment
  • Marine navigation and communication equipment
  • Electrical and electronic enclosures
  • Electric motors, AC, and DC
  • Switching equipment; low and high voltage
  • Fuse boxes and power boxes
  • Medical equipment
  • Electrical RF, electronic wireways, and terminal boxes
  • Scientific and measuring instruments
  • Telecommunications equipment
  • Remote electronic devices
  • All conductive leads, connectors, and terminals

Cortec patented VpCI technology prevents corrosion through its unique Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor action. VpCI’s adsorb on to metal surfaces creating a molecular layer of protection. ElectriCorr VpCI-150 Tape powered by Nano-VpCI is effective against a variety of corrosive agents including salt, airborne contaminants, H2S, SO2, NH3, and others. It protects up to 0.4 ft3 (11.3 liter) per linear inch (2.5 cm). VpCI-170 protects up to 1 ft3 (28.3 liter) by volume per linear inch (2.5 cm).

ElectriCorr VpCI-150 Tape powered by Nano-VpCI is accepted by Canadian Food Inspection Agency for indirect contact with food and packaging equipment. It conforms to VIA Test per MIL-B-22110, NATO #8030-00-244-1299 and NSN #8030-01-208-1769 standards. Meets MIL-B-81705C for static dissipative materials as well as Southern California Clean Air Act and other national and local regulations. It is USDA approved.
