Dry-Film Preservatives
- Polyphase 641
Polyphase 641 is an advanced Polyphase formulation with color stable technology, enhanced chemical stability and all the fungicidal efficacy of conventional Polyphase. Improved performance and improved shelf life stability have been demonstrated in many waterborne and solvent formulations including systems containing amines, metal carboxylate driers, light stabilizers, raw linseed oil and iron oxide pigments. Polyphase 641 is a cost effective solution and can provide effective protection at lower use levels versus competitive products. In low pH sys- tems, Polyphase 641 is effective in controlling and preventing in-package yeast and fungal contamination at very low doses (0.025 % - 0.05 %). The versatility and cost efficiency of Polyphase 641 make an excellent choice for systems needing fungal protection Polyphase 641 is highly recommended for adhesives, sealants, polymer emulsions and many other applications requiring dry-film protection. - Polyphase CST
The latest in Polyphase technology, CST provides improved biocidal efficacy with assurance of color stability. Polyphase CST has demonstrated improved compatibility with polymer emulsion based formulas, including acrylic, vinyl acrylic and styrenated acrylics, and is a cost effective system of protection that frequently provides protection at lower use levels than competitive products. - MERGAL BCM
A new fungicide for the USA (successfully used for many years internationally), BCM is a VOC free fungicide well suited for adhesives and sealants (latex & silicone). With a slightly narrower spectrum of activity than Polyphase, BCM is color stable and highly effective at exceedingly low doses. Its low leach characteristics make this product a good choice for adhesive systems exposed to moisture, i.e. flooring, carpeting, and tile. MERGAL BCM is also well suited for bathroom sealants.
- Troysan 18611
186-II is a liquid, broad spectrum bactericide for aqueous based adhesives and sealants. 186 is one of the most popular technologies used in the industry due to the product's compatibility and color stability in latex systems. The product is recommended for all latex systems including emulsions. 186-II was tested and shown to be emission compliant at less than 100 parts per billion formaldehyde when used at recommended doses. - Troysan 395
395 is a liquid, broad spectrum, hydantoin based bactericide effective in protecting emulsions, adhesives, sealants, polymer emulsions, and pigment slurries. This technology has broad use in cosmetics and many personal care formulations based on its excellent toxicological profile. 395 provides low toxicity, low odor & low volatility, and is U.S. FDA CFR 21 section 176.170 approved. - MERGAL K 12 N
MERGAL* K 12 N is a dual active approach to protection. The product allows a reduction in the level of CMIT / MIT needed while simultaneously providing faster sanitation and more resilient protection to sealants, pigment slurries, starch solutions, adhesives, and emulsions including polymers containing residual redox agents. MERGAL K 12 N meets the requirements of U.S. FDA CFR 21 Sections 175.105, 176.170. - MERGA K 14
MERGAIL K 14 is a stabilized CMIT / MIT based bactericide that has improved stability and speed of sanitation compared to conventional isothiazolinone technology. Recommended for adhesives, caulks, sealants, pigment slurries, starch solutions, and latex emulsions.
- Troysol LAC
A flow control and substrate wetting additive enhancing the ability of waterborne systems to coat hydrophobic substrates such as polypropylene, wax coated paper, oily surfaces and many other low energy surfaces. The product prevents pin holes and cratering and is recommended for tapes and pressure sensitive adhesives. LAC is also used in the production of emulsion polymers as a polymerization surfactant. Submitted to FDA with approvals pending under U.S. FDA CFR 21 sections 175.105, 176.170 & 176.180. - Troysol S366
Troysol S366 is a flow and leveling additive for solvent based systems that prevents pin holes and addresses poor coverage problems, including those caused by inadequately or improperly cleaned substrates. S366 improves substrate wetting of most non aqueous based adhesive & sealant systems. The product is recommended for urethanes, polyesters, epoxies, vinyls, UV curable and other non-waterborne systems and is typically effective at 0.2 to 0.6 weight %. - Troysol AFL
AFL is a polymeric, silicone free surfactant to improve air release in all non-aqueous adhesive & sealant systems. The product is highly effective at low levels and easily incorporated with mild agitation.
