Resodyn Acoustic Mixers, Inc., will be demonstrating mixers based on a revolutionary mixing technology utilizing low-frequency, high-intensity acoustic energy at SAMPE '08 Long Beach, Booth #553.

Butte, MT - Resodyn Acoustic Mixers, Inc., is pleased to announce the commercial availability of laboratory and production scale mixers, which utilize the company's proprietary technology, ResonantAcoustic Mixing® (RAM). The newly patented technology uses low-frequency, highintensity sound energy to provide intimate mixing of gas-liquid, liquid-liquid, liquid-solid, or solid-solid systems.

RAM technology applies a consistent shear field throughout the entire mixing vessel and has proven to mix complex combinations of various materials with very consistent results. This unique technology substitutes low-frequency acoustic energy for traditional mechanical mixing impellers. The application of acoustic energy is uniformly distributed throughout the mixing chamber and efficiently mixes products and thus, generates less heat compared to conventional mixing technologies.

ResonantAcoustic® Mixing technology is very effective for hard to mix systems, such as powders of disparate particle sizes and densities, slurries, nanomaterials, or viscous pastes and adhesives. Attendees of SAMPE '08 Long Beach, who are involved in the processing of advanced materials for the ceramics, composites, electronic materials, or engineered thermoplastics industries will find this new technology can enable new process and product development and manufacture.

RAM mixers use no probes, impellers, or other internal components. As a result, there can be considerable flexibility in the vessel used for mixing. In-vessel sealed mixing is particularly desirable for hazardous compounds. Waste of expensive fillers such as precious metals, or nanocompounds can be reduced, or eliminated by mixing in the end-use container.

The bench top mixer, LabRAM, is a versatile mixer for testing, laboratory use and smaller production quantities. Mixing may be done directly in the container. No clean up is required.

The RAM 5 mixes without impellers and is capable of mixing one pound (500 grams) to 80 pounds (35 kg) of material. Various combinations of gases, liquids, solids, powders, viscous liquids and pastes are thoroughly and consistently mixed with this innovative technology. The RAM 5 is the only noninvasive mixer capable of mixing over 10 kg of materials with viscosities beyond 100 million cP.

RAM mixing is easily scaled from the laboratory to production.

ResonantAcoustic® Mixing will be demonstrated at SAMPE '08 Long Beach at booth 553. SAMPE '08 Long Beach will be held at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA from May 20 to 22, 2008.
