The new basket mill is a sealed, non-pressurized unit that incorporates a high- speed disperser to promote tank flow, and a unique, internally cooled basket assembly mounted in very close proximity to the high-speed blade. The high-speed agitator can be replaced by an axial or radial turbine, depending upon viscosity and application. The shafts feature separate mechanical variable speed drives, with variable frequency drives available as an option.
The media chamber is top feeding, media is retained by a bar-type screen. A more or less conical shield retains media on the feed end of the basket. All wetted components are mirror-polished type 304 stainless steel.
Developed over the period of the past two years, the mill features a media bed agitated by pins. The company stresses the following benefits of the new design:
Increased productivity, faster cleanup
Increased pigment tinctural strength, along with narrower particle size distribution
Complete batch processing in one tank
Reduced milling time
