Bostik Findley Flooring Group unveils DURABOND® D-222 Duraguard Anti-Fracture & Waterproofing Membrane

Ready-to-use latex-based crack-isolation membrane designed for thin-set ceramic tile and stone installations on vertical and horizontal surfaces

MIDDLETON, MASS. (Jan. 9, 2004) — The Bostik Findley Flooring Group is pleased to announce the development of DURABOND® D-222 Duraguard Membrane, a ready-to-use latex-based anti-fracture and waterproofing membrane specifically designed for use beneath thin-set ceramic tile and stone installations on vertical and horizontal surfaces.

D-222 Duraguard Membrane is a single-component, latex-based membrane suitable for use over a variety of substrates in commercial and residential applications, including: concrete, cement block walls, cement backer board, gypsum board, exterior-grade plywood (interior, dry installations only) and mortar beds. The blue-colored anti-fracture/waterproofing membrane can be applied with a brush, roller or trowel, and cleans easily using water. D-222 Duraguard Membrane is ideal for waterproofing showers, lavatories, laundry rooms and kitchens in homes, hotels, restaurants, hospitals and schools, to name just a few applications.

The latex-based membrane seamlessly bridges cracks in substrates as large as 1/8 inch and requires no mixing and dries in one to three hours — allowing for the application of two membrane layers in half or less the time of many other competitive products. Available in 3.5-gallon pails and cartons with four 1-gallon pails, D-222 Duraguard Membrane meets American National Standards Institute Specifications ANSI A118.10 for waterproofing membranes beneath thin-set tile and stone. D-222 Duraguard Membrane is safe, non-flammable, and complies with all current state and federal regulations for Volatile Organic Compounds.
