Bostik Findley Flooring Group Unveils Hydroment Ultra-Set Advancedtm Urethane Anti-Fracture/Waterproofing Membrane
Ready-to-use high-performance membrane delivers much-enhanced workability and a virtually odor-free environment for contractors
MIDDLETON, MASS. — The Bostik Findley Flooring Group is pleased to announce the development of Hydroment® Ultra-Set AdvancedTM, a ready-to-use urethane-based anti-fracture and waterproofing membrane specifically designed for use beneath thin-set ceramic tile and stone installations on vertical and horizontal surfaces.
A one-part, elastomeric waterproofing/crack-isolation membrane, Hydroment Ultra-Set Advanced is suitable for use over a variety of substrates in commercial and residential applications, including: concrete, cement block walls, cement backer board, gypsum board, exterior-grade plywood (interior, dry installations only), ceramic tile, poured Gypsum underlayments such as "gypcrete," most metals, mortar beds and drywall. The high-performance anti-fracture/waterproofing membrane is easily applied with a trowel.
Ultra-Set Advanced — ideal for waterproofing showers, lavatories, laundry rooms and kitchens in homes, hotels, restaurants, hospitals and schools — seamlessly bridges cracks in substrates as large as 1/8 inch. The single-component elastomeric waterproofing and crack isolation membrane needs no mixing and cures to form a highly flexible, impervious urethane elastomer with tenacious adhesion.
Ideal for preventing cracks from damaging thin-set tile and stone installations, Ultra-Set Advanced also helps isolate movement triggered by radiant heat. Additionally, Ultra-Set Advanced doubles as a high-strength adhesive for use over difficult substrates, as well as ceramic tile, marble, granite and dimension stone.
Hydroment Ultra-Set Advanced meets American National Standards Institute Specifications ANSI A118.10 for waterproofing membranes beneath thin-set tile and stone; the American Society for Testing & Materials' ASTM C-836-89 requirements for high solids content, cold liquid applied elastomeric waterproofing membranes for use with separate wearing course; ASTM C627-81 specifications for anti-fracture capabilities; and Uniform Plumbing Code 3471 for nonmetallic shower-pan liners. Ultra-Set Advanced is safe, non-flammable, and complies with all current state and federal regulations for Volatile Organic Compounds.
Colored white, Hydroment Ultra-Set Advanced is available in 5-gallon pails as well as 30-ounce "sausage packs" that come four to a box, 16 boxes to a carton (64 packs per carton).
