deVan Sealants, Incorporated was founded in 1949 as Durable Putty Products by Arthur and Ruth DeVan. They built the business by producing and supplying oil based caulking, putty and glazing compound to the local hardware market. At its peak Durable Putty Products was supplying every hardware store in the St. Louis metropolitan area except for two small stores. In 1956 the company was reincorporated as deVan Sealants, Incorporated. The company purchased a building and property and about 1960 moved to our current address. Two additions have been made to the original building and we now occupy about 42,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space. The company's market focus gradually changed from retail caulk and glazing products to the manufacture and supply of sealant products to other manufacturers as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM). This continues to be our market focus and today deVan Sealants, Incorporated supplies sealants for a wide array of manufactured products. Markets served include metal building, wood aluminum and vinyl windows, truck and bus bodies, refrigerators, air conditioners, floral crafts, telecommunications, monuments and more.
