Double Planetary Mixer

Ross "DPM" Double Planetary Mixer
The "DPM" Double Planetary Mixer incorporates a new patented "HV" blade design. This blade configuration allows use of the mixer for materials having a viscosity up to approx. 6 million centipoise, compared to approx. 1.5 million centipoise for the older models. The blade was designed to produce excellent axial and radial flow, while operating at close blade to bowl clearance. The close blade to bowl design prevents the buildup of material on the tank wall and ensures efficient heat transfer when used with a jacketed mixing vessel.
In a Ross Double Planetary Mixer, two planetary blades orbit the mix vessel on a common axis, while each revolves on its own axis. The blades continuously advance along the periphery of the vessel, removing material from the vessel wall and transporting it to the interior. This positive mixing action serves several purposes:. - Complete mixing. In only a few minutes, the blades pass through every point in the vessel and promote fast and thorough mixing. - Efficient heat transfer. By preventing a layer of material from accumulating on the vessel wall, the mixer ensures efficient heat transfer and even distribution of heat throughout the batch – critically important concerns for heat-sensitive materials. The Ross DPM Double Planetary mixer can substitute for a double-arm mixer in many applications and deliver an enormous savings. The DPM Double Planetary Mixer is available in sizes from 1 to 500 gallons.
