Great Lakes To Produce A New Grade Anox 20 Antioxidant

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (NYSE:GLK) today announced the company will begin producing a new grade of Anox™ 20 hindered phenolic antioxidant with a non-organotin catalyst. The new grade will be first available in the 4th quarter of 2003.

Anox 20 is considered a primary antioxidant and is used to protect polyolefins, styrenics, engineering thermoplastics, adhesives, and elastomers from the devastating effects of heat and oxygen.

Anox 20 antioxidant is the sole product in Great Lakes' extensive product portfolio that utilizes an organotin catalyst. The antioxidant is manufactured at sites in Italy, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and the United States.
