Henkel Loctite Introduces Fluorescent Adhesive Detector

Rocky Hill, Conn. - To confirm that fluorescent adhesives and sealants have been correctly dispensed onto parts during automated assembly, Henkel Loctite has introduced the Loctite® Fluorescence Detector.

Incorporated into the manufacturing process line, the Fluorescence Detector is connected to a PLC and an inhouse power supply. The detector emits light that causes the area to fluoresce, then detects the fluorescence and sends a signal to the PLC. This signal alerts operators about any out-of-conformance parts. The unit's maximum response time is 250 microseconds between detection points.

The Fluorescence Detector features an LED with a 100,000 hour life to ensure consistent, long-term process monitoring. The LED will not degrade and, therefore, requires no adjustment or calibration as the lamp ages. Three interchangeable lenses are available for different spot sizes and detection distances. The Fluorescence Detector is programmed with a standard "teach" mode for easy set up.
