Hercules sells peroxy chemicals business to GEO
The peroxy chemicals business was part of Hercules' Resins division, with operations in Gibbstown, New Jersey and Franklin, Virginia. As part of the transaction, Hercules will also toll produce certain peroxy products at its Brunswick, Georgia and Beringen, Belgium facilities.
Additionally, on May 25, 2001, Hercules closed the sale of its 50% interest in Hercules-Sanyo, Incorporated to SANAM Corporation, a wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary of Sanyo Chemical Industries, Ltd. Hercules-Sanyo is engaged in the toner resins business.
Hercules was assisted in this transaction by Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown. Earlier this year, Hercules sold the majority of its Resins division, including its hydrocarbon resins operation and portions of its rosin resins business, to Eastman Chemical Company.
