Hercules Resins has debuted new Regalite V3100 and V3120 hydrogenated hydrocarbon resins for adhesive applications.

These hydrogenated hydrocarbon resins are excellent tackifiers for, and exhibit excellent compatibility with, styrenic midblock copolymers--styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS) and styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS)--and ethylene-vinyl-acetate (EVA). Regalite V3100 and V3120 have softening temperatures of 100°C and 120°C respectively. With its 100°C softening point, Regalite V3100 offers an excellent balance of pressure sensitive adhesive performance and low application viscosity.

The new resins also offer color stability, melt point stability, applicability in radiation curable systems, low odor, and good resistance to thermal and oxidative degradation. Because of their proven chemistries, they can be evaluated quickly in a lab to confirm their performance properties, then dropped in as replacements for a range of mixed aliphatic and aromatic resins.

These new Regalite resins are designed to meet evolving demands for performance, availability and cost.
