Southampton, PA - M&C Specialties Co., a global provider of pressure sensitive adhesive solutions, has achieved ISO/TS-16949:2002 certification, aligning its internal processes with a certification that is considered the standard of quality for systems management within the automotive supply chain.

The ISO/TS-16949:2002 standard was developed after the success of the QS 9000 standard in the automotive industry. The TS-16949 standard requires an independent quality system registration with industry-wide requirements. Under the TS-16949 certification, companies must develop a more process-based approach to auditing and retain a strict emphasis on Customer Oriented Processes. The goal of the certification is to allow continual industry-improvement by focusing on defect prevention and decreasing variation and waste in the automotive supply-chain.

M&C Specialties' Southampton, PA facility has been a quality supplier of pressure sensitive parts for automotive OEMs, and Tier 1 and Tier 2 manufacturers. While previously meeting the standard of excellence required by the QS 9000 certification, M&C Specialties has successfully upgraded all procedures in its Southampton facility to meet the new TS-16949 certification requirements, in order to continually stay current with industry-held standards and to serve the needs of customers as efficiently as possible. The TS-16949 certification will eventually replace the QS 9000 certification entirely.
