The company developed the Multiwash Process to solve the media fouling and frequent backwash problems that can occur in today's water treatment plants. The process uses sustained simultaneous air and water backwash to keep filter media clean and eliminate fouling with biological solids or chemical precipitates. Vigorous scouring action effectively cleans the full media bed, lengthening filter runs. Longer filter runs minimize backwash water requirements, resulting in reduced backwash wastewater.
The process can be used for both water and wastewater filtration. Compatibility with a wide variety of products and filter designs makes the process suitable for upgrading or retrofitting filters failing due to inadequate backwash capabilities.
The process provides cost-effective treatment by eliminating the need for chemical cleaning and frequent media replacements that may be required with other filtration systems. Low backwash water rates allow for smaller, less expensive backwash pumps, backwash storage, piping and valves.
