Nametre entered the viscosity measurement business in 1962, measuring rheological properties of solid materials. Today's business has evolved to focus a special transducer design from the original solids measurement technology. Over 80% of instruments sold today are for liquid measurement in process market applications. Ours is a dynamic organization committed to serving customers in polymer, petrochemical, oil refinery and oil transportation, construction materials, food & pharmaceutical, pulp and paper industries, utilities and consumer product manufacturing.

In May of 1998, Nametre, Tytronics, and Holometrix-Micromet, formed Metrisa, Inc., a company focused on analytical measurement instrumentation for the process, water and wastewater treatment, and materials characterization markets.
