NovaRes® 1100 resin is a light-colored thermoplastic adhesive tackifier
Description
NovaRes® 1100 resin is a light-colored thermoplastic adhesive tackifier based on the pentaerythritol ester oftall oil rosin. NovaRes 1100 is designed as a tackifier for a wide range of packaging and pressure-sensitive hot melt adhesives. The resin is compatible with ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers (EVA), natural and synthetic rubbers (SBR, SBS, SIS, SEBS), and acrylic polymers.

Hot melt adhesives formulated with NovaRes 1100 resin exhibit color stability, light color, low odor, and viscosity stability under normal conditions of use. NovaRes 1100 resin is soluble in aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, and ketones, and insoluble in water and alcohols.

Uses and Applications
NovaRes 1100 resin is compatible with a wide range of natural and synthetic rubbers and ethylene vinyl acetate polymers with high vinyl acetate content. Applications include paperboard packaging, book binding, tapes, and labels. NovaRes 1100 resin conforms to the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration under 21 C.F.R. § 175.105.

Storage and Handling
NovaRes 1100 resin should be stored and handled in well-ventilated areas. Storage areas should also be cool and dry. Prolonged storage or storage at elevated temperatures may cause the resin to fuse, block or lump and darken prematurely.

NovaRes 1100 resin is supplied by Georgia-Pacific in 50-lb. multiwall bags.

Additional information on the safe handling of NovaRes 1100 resin is in the Material Safety Data
Sheet available from Georgia-Pacific.
