NovaRes® 1182 resin is a light-colored thermoplastic resin
Description
NovaRes® 1182 resin is a light-colored thermoplastic resin based on the glycerol ester of tall oil rosin. NovaRes 1182 is designed as a tackifier for a wide range of packaging, pressure-sensitive adhesive, and general purpose adhesive applications. It is compatible with a wide range of polymers and other adhesive raw materials.

Hot melt adhesives formulated with NovaRes 1182 exhibit light color and good viscosity stability under normal conditions of use. NovaRes 1182 resin is soluble in hydrocarbons, esters and ketones, and insoluble in water and alcohols.

Uses and Applications
NovaRes 1182 is especially useful in adhesives where good low-temperature performance is needed. The resin conforms to the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration under 21 CFR §175.105 for adhesives.

Storage and Handling
NovaRes 1182 resin should be stored and handled in well ventilated areas. Storage areas should also be cool and dry. Prolonged storage or storage at elevated temperatures may cause pastillated resin to fuse, block, or lump and darken prematurely.

NovaRes 1182 is supplied as pastilles in 50-lb. multiwall kraft bags, cast solid in fiber or rosin drums, and in bulk molten form.

Additional information on the safe handling of NovaRes 1182 resin is in the Material Safety Data Sheet available from Georgia-Pacific.
