OxyChem Electronic Materials is part of the Occidental Chemical Durez Division. Occidental Chemical is a major chemical producer and the chemical operation of Occidental Petroleum Corporation.  Occidental Chemical is an active participant of the
Chemical Manufacturers Association and fully supports an industry wide program known as Responsible Care.

OxyChem Electronics Materials offers two product lines: The OxySIM® product line includes adhesives and encapsulants used in microelectronics packaging applications. From the variety of products, which include epoxy-based and BMI-based products, we offer superior performance, easy of processing and excellent reliability.
  • The SumiOxy® adhesives are based on silicon-imide copolymers that offer excellent thermal stability, for applications that require stability at temperatures over 300oC. Since 1994, we have been supplying SumiOxy® adhesive tapes for the assembly of DRAM. More recently, we developed tapes for the emerging packaging technologies. In addition, in 1997 we commercialized SumiOxy® liquid adhesives for high performance packages such as hermetic packages.
  • The SumiOxy® polymer technology is a result of joint work by Occidental Chemical and Sumitomo Bakelite. A joint venture between these two companies was form in 1994 under Sumitomo Durez, a 37-year-old ongoing joint venture business between Occidental Chemical and Sumitomo Bakelite.

The OxyChem Electronics Materials group is located at Occidental Chemical's Technology Center located in Grand Island, New York. This facility has been OSHA Star certified since 1993.

In March 2000 OxyChem Electronics Materials welcomed JDM Associates as representatives to service our customers in the Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
