Pregis Unveils Absolute Flooring Underlayment Line
Deerfield, IL - Pregis Corp will be unveiling its new Absolute line of flooring underlayment products at Surfaces 2009, February 3-5, Las Vegas.
The newly-branded line features Pregis' patented lip and tape system and the first polyethylene (PE)-based underlayment product engineered for environmentally-driven installations. The four different offerings provide a wide range of features and properties to address most laminated flooring underlayment challenges.
The flagship product is Absolute EZ-Seam which relies on Pregis' patented lip and tape system to create a moisture-resistant seal. The EZ-Seam line features a layer of PE foam laminated to a layer of PE film. The film enhances the underlayment's ability to resist moisture, making it ideal for laminated flooring installations which might be subjected to higher humidity.
The EZ-Seam system offers a "peel and stick" tape system with an aggressive adhesive. Installers simply remove the release liner and mate the edge with the adhesive to the non-adhesive lip. The aggressive adhesive helps create a moisture resistant seam.
Absolute EZ-Seam Renew is a lip and tape underlayment system which is made from a minimum of 25% recycled content (from both post-industrial and post-consumer sources).
Also based on Pregis' patented EZ-Seam application system, this product is ideally suited for contractors/homeowners desiring a more sustainable alternative without sacrificing any of the performance benefits offered by the company's proven patented underlayment technology.
Its aggressive tape sealing feature enables efficient installation without the need for additional adhesives or applications steps. Both EZ-Seam and EZ-Seam Renew products are available in roll widths of 36- and 48-inches.
Absolute Laminated Foam features PE foam laminated to PE film for moisture resistance over concrete installations. The product is available with or without a "lip" and is an excellent workhorse for those applications where both performance and value are desired. (The "lip" feature makes it easy to mate rolls of material together for accurate installation.)
Absolute Flooring Foam is a workhorse solution ideal for non-concrete applications which only require the performance benefits of a non-laminated foam material. This product has excellent compression strength and is available in widths ranging from 36- to 100-inches. Absolute Flooring Foam is ideal as a leveling agent and for minor sound reduction for laminate flooring installations.
All four Absolute flooring underlayment products are available in either 2- or 3mm foam thicknesses and in various roll widths.
