Pressure Indicating Sensor Film Helps Assure Quality In Packaging

Madison, NJ - Sensor Products Inc. announces Pressurex, a tactile pressure-indicating sensor film that helps manufacturers in Research & development, design, and quality control/quality assurance to monitor and guarantee consistent package integrity.

Pressurex film allows for rapid and easy determination of compression magnitude and distribution between any two mating or contacting surfaces. It is virtually indispensable for manufacturing process control and machine/component inspection. Pressurex also aids in quality control for applications such as validation and calibration of sealing die pressure, and helps reveal weak spots, channels and wrinkles at the sealing surface

The film is also widely used to verify and record pressure distribution during equipment set-up, preventive maintenance and product changeover for various form-fill-seal, deposit-fill-seal and CAP/MAP systems. By assessing these pressures, engineers can be assured of even and perfectly aligned seals and proper registration, which ultimately results in a higher yield and longer sealing die life.

Pressurex film measures pressure from 2 - 43,000 PSI (0.14 - 3,000 kg/cm2 ). When placed between two contacting surfaces, the film instantaneously and permanently changes color. This color change is directly proportional to the actual pressure applied. Precise pressure magnitude is easily determined by comparing the resultant color intensity to a color correlation chart (conceptually similar to interpreting Litmus paper). No training or instrumentation is required.

The film comes in the form of a thin plastic sheet, physically similar in thickness to paper, that conforms to curvaceous surfaces. For more information visit www.sensorprod.com/sample.
