Sashco Announces New and Improved Big Stretch Formula
Brighton, CO – Sashco Sealants announced recently, the introduction of a new and improved Big Stretch formula. Big Stretch is used for many interior and exterior applications, including: windows, doors, siding, vents, soffits, eaves, and baseboards. It is also good for crown molding and sound proofing interior walls.
Reformulated with the professional in mind, new Big Stretch offers users all of the exceptional qualities of the original formula, including easy clean-up, freeze/thaw stability, and a limited lifetime guarantee, with the added value of more powerful adhesion, increased flexibility, and improved paintability. The new formula is also lighter weight for reduced applicator fatigue and faster tooling.
This announcement follows more than five months of lab and field testing in varying states and climates across the country. According to one Pennsylvania remodeler and Big Stretch field tester, "On a scale of 1-5, compared to original Big Stretch, I would rate the new formula a five. It is much easier to gun and tool, has a smoother finish, and dries much faster."
"We are very excited about the improved Big Stretch formula," said Sashco Lab Manager, Robin Kupernick. "Our customers told us they don't like the ‘shiny' appearance that is sometimes seen when a bead of caulk is painted over. We listened. The new formula has virtually no paint sheen at all. We have also formulated new Big Stretch to adhere even better to a wide variety of building materials, and to have greater stretch during joint movement – up to 100% more stretch."
New Big Stretch will begin hitting retail locations shortly after the first of the year.
There is more good news for Big Stretch users – the cost of new Big Stretch will remain the same. The new formula will continue to retail for an average of $3.99 per cartridge, which varies by market. The new formula will be available in all of the current Big Stretch colors, including Sashco's new line of window colors, however "white and gray will be the first colors released and, at least initially, may be the most readily available," explains Kupernick.
As with all Sashco products, high performance is top priority. Continued testing and customer feedback will be closely monitored to confirm that users are pleased with the new formula.
