Sil-Bond 905 High Temp Sealant Now Available

Sil-Bond 905, a new high temperature, ceramic-silicone potting compound developed by Aremco Products, Inc., is now used to encapsulate cartridge heaters and high power case resistors for applications to 900 °F (482 °C).
Bond 905 is an advanced, two-part, ceramic-silicone potting compound used to insulate moisture sensitive electrical components including cartridge heaters and high power case resistors for applications to 900 °F (482 °C). This compound demonstrates excellent moisture resistance with a weight gain of less than 1% after exposure to 900 °F and 24 hours water immersion. A low shrinkage rate of less than 1% is also demonstrated after exposure to 900 °F and the dielectric strength is greater than 250 volts/mil. The combination of excellent electrical and moisture resistance make Sil-Bondtm 905 highly effective at stabilizing the electrical resistance values against changes induced by ambient conditions.
Sil-Bond 905 is supplied as a powder and liquid system that is mixed in a ratio of 100 parts powder to 50-60 parts liquid by weight. An extensive cure schedule is recommended to achieve best results. The cure schedule is 12-16 hours at room temperature and 30 minutes each at 150, 250, 350, and 450 oF, respectively. Alternative cure schedules are possible depending on the area being encapsulated.
Sil-Bondtm 905 is supplied from stock in standard pint, quart, and gallon kits. For more information about this advanced, new product, please contact Aremco's Technical Sales Department.
