Silicone/Acrylic Double Coated Adhesive Film

Scapa 705 is a clear, pressure-sensitive adhesive film double coated with custom formulated silicone and acrylic adhesives. The product is specifically designed to provide excellent adhesion to silicone-coated substrates and other difficult-to-bond materials.

The product is engineered to offer excellent adhesion to silicone-coated substrates like gaskets, foams, and sponges, providing rapid initial adhesion and strong holding power. The high tack acrylic adhesive bonds to a variety of substrates including glass, plastics, and metals. It can serve as a splicing tape to join silicone-coated papers or films, and is also suitable for high or low temperature gasket sealing, precision die cutting, forming to intricate parts, and general purpose bonding.

For keypad assembly applications in the telecommunications industry, the silicone adhesive side of the product can be adhered to the silicone rubber pad while the acrylic adhesive side can bond to the plastic base. Silicone gasket fabricators can use the product for die cut and formed parts where silicone adhesive is applied to silicone foams or gaskets, and the acrylic adhesive bonds to other surfaces.

The film features a specially treated polyester release film that allows both sides of the adhesive film to unwind smoothly and easily. The product conforms well to achieve good contact with contoured and irregular surfaces, is resistant to a wide range of chemicals, and withstands a wide range of application temperatures, from –20°F to 350°F.
