Tekra, A Division Of EIS, Inc. Adds Lidding And Sealant Food Packaging Polyester Films

Tekra, A Division of EIS, Inc., has expanded its film products to include DuPont Teijin Films (DTF) manufactured Mylar polyester films designed for lidding and sealant food packaging applications. The market focus will include: fresh produce, frozen food, chilled ready meal, ovenable films, and related heat seal food packaging.

The Mylar polyester lidding films come in a variety of thickness and heat seal layer types, depending on the type of tray and the desired features for the application. “Today’s consumers make buying decisions based on quality and convenience. The film component of the packaging design is essential to branding a superior product—whether you need to extend the shelf life of fresh cut produce, effectively self-vent for freezer to oven applications, or ensure that the film will not shred when peeled,” said Kevin Suino, Market Development Manager.

The new product line is well aligned with Tekra’s capabilities as a distributor and converter of plastic films and adhesives, serving markets where quality is crucial. “Our current skill set of people, Mylar polyester films product knowledge, new process capability, along with meeting GFSI (Good Food Safety) cleanliness standards, have energized our company and, more importantly, the lidding and sealant packaging films customers we now serve,” continued Suino.
